A recent newlywed herself, we can not think of a better Bridal Coordinator to care for the needs of our Bridal Clients than Brittany Wasilefsky! She is a consummate professional, grasps the ins and outs of the beauty industry and knows the salon and its professionals, so she can direct our Brides to the right people for their services.
She’s also a long standing and very integral part of our Front Desk team. “I truly enjoy answering phones and greeting customers as they walk in for their appointments,” she explains. “I am one of the first interactions with our customers and love to share my enthusiasm for the beauty industry to help create an enjoyable experience here at our salon.”
Brittany’s most high profile bridal assignment so far this year was to help Fox 10 Morning Anchor Kristin Anderson’s Mom get ready for the newswoman’s wedding at Power Ranch’s The Barn in Gilbert, Ariz., this April. “She said she never felt so beautiful and was treated like a queen,” says Anderson herself, who also praised Brittany’s choice of stylist, Lindsey Rae Hayes, who did an amazing job!
After recommending our professionals for certain services based on a Bride’s style and needs, Brittany also supplements their professional’s advice on retail choices to help properly prepare them for the big day. Luxe products she thinks every Bride should use: Eminence Organics Eight Greens Phyto Masque! “This masque is fabulous because it does it all! It helps hydration, elasticity, oil production and helps prevent breakouts,”she says. “It’s my go to product before a big night out!”
To reach Brittany for questions about our Bridal Program, Luxe for the Bride, please send an email to luxebridalaz@gmail.com. We generally respond to emails within 48 hours. You may also reach Brittany in the salon on Monday 10:00 am-4:00 pm, Tuesday-Thursday 9:00 am-2:30 pm Fridays from 9:00 am-1:30 pm by calling (480) 209-16-59. Bridal: Black and White?
Brides.com runway review called it “… a modern homage to ‘architecture and discipline.’ The striking contrast of black and white—featured in nearly every look—is complemented by the use of textured layers. The result? Dramatic volume and a fashionable edge—the perfect cocktail for a confident bride.” Um, OK. Huffington Post had a one word description: edgy. But isn’t like the world’s foremost Wedding Dress designer, Vera wang to push the envelope and make you think, “hmmm, maybe?” Last year’s red bridal collection did just that, so some may find the black accents — especially the leather gloves — to be an attempt to emphasis the possible. The line should be perfect for rocker Avril Lavigne … we’ll have to keep an eye out. Meanwhile, would you wear one? See the full show here: http://www.verawang.com/veraunveiled/2013/04/spring-2014-bridal-collection-run-of-show/
Something Blue and Something Melon: Hot New Wedding Colors!
The arbiter of great taste, Martha Stewart, declares new chic colors for weddings: Cornflower blue and melon! “[They] can warm up a room or cool it down; be bright and modern, or vintage and romantic,” says the MSW blog. “The best news about this pretty pairing: It looks good in flowers, on favors, and everything in between.” You can read and see more about this hot pairing of colors for your own event HERE. In describing this beautiful set-up: “Here, bistro-style tables covered with custom-embroidered linen create the feel of a French cafe … Kumquat bunches tagged with guests’ names serve as place cards.” Now imagine bridal nails or toes in those colors! Something borrowed, something blue!

Fashion for a Cause: Project NACE
You may have seen Luxe Salon and Spa’s Facebook and Twitter accounts “blowing up” with the amazing work we’ve been doing on Fox 10 Arizona Morning and Arizona Midday/Channel 12. Many amazing special occasion styles and makeup applications later, (including working with Fox 10′s Kristin Anderson, who was the evening’s star emcee — see photo) we sit and reflect on a fruitful couple of days putting our talents to work with other to make a difference in some special children’s lives.
We were lucky enough to partner with the National Association of Catering & Events (NACE) for a an amazing special event at The Venue of Scottsdale. NACE you say? It is the “Who’s Who” in events and weddings in the valley. It’s President, Kristina Celik of Arizona Weddings Magazine and its Special Events Chair, Jessica Barry of J Barry Designs were kind enough to invite us to help with one of the most imaginative and exciting events we’ve seen in a long time: Project NACE: Fashion for a cause, “where everyday elements come to life on the runway.”
Name sound familiar? Just like Project Runway, designers were tasked with building a wedding gown from everyday materials. Photographers used photos printed on canvas, LED lights and recycled hotel keys became headpieces in updos, magazine editors made flowers from their pages into bouquets, florists made gowns from leaves and flowers, while caterers put their flatware and table clothes to work in a unique, whimsical way. Not only were the gowns creative, but they reflected in large part trends popping up on true bridal runways for fall. (Click on the photos to show entire image larger.)
- Project NACE was held at The Venue.
- Our amazing team: Stormy, Meg, Stephanie, Patricia, Christina, Jodi and Hillary.
- For TV appearances on Thursday: Stormy, Abby and Hillary did hair.
- Hair by Stormy, Makeup by Hillary.
- Makeup by Hillary, Hair by Stormy
- Amazing dress of flatware! Makeup by Hillary.
- Adorable Starlight Kids. Hair by Stephanie.
- Chandelier Pink Petal dress hair by Jodi.
Twenty-one “gowns” went down the runway, each inspired and so, SO creative, that the word “creative” doesn’t even do justice to the jaw-dropping ensembles that wowed the capacity crowd. And just like the designers, our team of talented Luxe Salon and Spa Professionals was up to the challenge of pulling the looks together with amazing hair and makeup.
All this magic comes together to raise money for the Starlight Foundation of Phoenix and to help sick children. Starlight brings together experts from pediatric health care, technology and entertainment to create programs that help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families. The programs help children and families cope with the challenges they face daily.

We are proud to share this collection “Tried and True” Bridal advice we’ve learned over the years to make you feel more comfortable, look better and feel amazing on your special day!
Prepping for Glowing Wedding Skin & Great Makeup:
4-6 Mo. Out: Get FREE Face Mapping done at Luxe to get prescription for Cleanser, Eye Cream and All Over Moisturizer. Start on exfolliants: Micro Derms and/or Chemicals Peels as prescribed by esthetician.
1 Mo. Out: Start Hydrating Facials, drink 8 glasses of water daily, cut back on caffeine and alcohol to keep skin hydrated.
Trial Day: No toners or moisturizers, come with a clean face. Bring photos of looks you like so the artist can get a sense of your style and bring photos of your self in makeup that you like as well.
Day of Wedding: Wash skin but skip toners, moisturizer and other products (like sunscreen) that will be between skin and makeup for better, long lasting application.
“Day Of” keep in your purse: Blotting sheets (designed to absorb oil or sweat without removing makeup) and a lip gloss/stick.
Beautiful Bridal Nails (and Toes!):
Natural Nails: We suggest our Brides (and Attendants) use one of our gel polish lines on fingers and toes (especially if the honeymoon is someplace sandy that grinds polish down) because it stays “fresh” looking longer, even into the honeymoon. This service can be done in advance to help ease the last minute rush. Brides who prefer regular polish should have services the “day of” or at longest the day before their event. Our Professional Nail Techs provide Brides with tips to make fingers and toes look fresh the day of the wedding and into the honeymoon in this case.
Gel Enhancements: These can be done in advance, but no more than a few days, especially if the bride has very short nails or no nail tips to work with. Again, we’ll provide the Bride with tips to make fingers and toes look fresh the day of the wedding and into the honeymoon. Gel Fills require the same timing as a new set.
4-6 Mo. Out: Talk with your stylist about your ideas for how you’d like to wear your hair on your Wedding Day. Discuss extensions, color, style. Start with deep conditioning treatments at the salon.
1 Mo. Out/Trial Day: Come with clean hair. Make sure to get a deep conditioning treatment at the salon and talk with stylist about treatments to use at home weekly.
1-2 weeks: Touch up color and cut; add extensions if chosen.
“Day Of” keep in your purse: Bobby pins, comb, mini hair spray, lipstick.
Other Services to Consider:
Waxing (should be done 3-5 days before Wedding)
Massage (helps keep stress at bay; a few days before Wedding)
