A recent newlywed herself, we can not think of a better Bridal Coordinator to care for the needs of our Bridal Clients than Brittany Wasilefsky! She is a consummate professional, grasps the ins and outs of the beauty industry and knows the salon and its professionals, so she can direct our Brides to the right people for their services.
She’s also a long standing and very integral part of our Front Desk team. “I truly enjoy answering phones and greeting customers as they walk in for their appointments,” she explains. “I am one of the first interactions with our customers and love to share my enthusiasm for the beauty industry to help create an enjoyable experience here at our salon.”
Brittany’s most high profile bridal assignment so far this year was to help Fox 10 Morning Anchor Kristin Anderson’s Mom get ready for the newswoman’s wedding at Power Ranch’s The Barn in Gilbert, Ariz., this April. “She said she never felt so beautiful and was treated like a queen,” says Anderson herself, who also praised Brittany’s choice of stylist, Lindsey Rae Hayes, who did an amazing job!
After recommending our professionals for certain services based on a Bride’s style and needs, Brittany also supplements their professional’s advice on retail choices to help properly prepare them for the big day. Luxe products she thinks every Bride should use: Eminence Organics Eight Greens Phyto Masque! “This masque is fabulous because it does it all! It helps hydration, elasticity, oil production and helps prevent breakouts,”she says. “It’s my go to product before a big night out!”

You may have seen Luxe Salon and Spa’s Facebook and Twitter accounts “blowing up” with the amazing work we’ve been doing on Fox 10 Arizona Morning and Arizona Midday/Channel 12. Many amazing special occasion styles and makeup applications later, (including working with Fox 10′s Kristin Anderson, who was the evening’s star emcee — see photo) we sit and reflect on a fruitful couple of days putting our talents to work with other to make a difference in some special children’s lives.
We were lucky enough to partner with the National Association of Catering & Events (NACE) for a an amazing special event at The Venue of Scottsdale. NACE you say? It is the “Who’s Who” in events and weddings in the valley. It’s President, Kristina Celik of Arizona Weddings Magazine and its Special Events Chair, Jessica Barry of J Barry Designs were kind enough to invite us to help with one of the most imaginative and exciting events we’ve seen in a long time: Project NACE: Fashion for a cause, “where everyday elements come to life on the runway.”
Name sound familiar? Just like Project Runway, designers were tasked with building a wedding gown from everyday materials. Photographers used photos printed on canvas, LED lights and recycled hotel keys became headpieces in updos, magazine editors made flowers from their pages into bouquets, florists made gowns from leaves and flowers, while caterers put their flatware and table clothes to work in a unique, whimsical way. Not only were the gowns creative, but they reflected in large part trends popping up on true bridal runways for fall. (Click on the photos to show entire image larger.)
Twenty-one “gowns” went down the runway, each inspired and so, SO creative, that the word “creative” doesn’t even do justice to the jaw-dropping ensembles that wowed the capacity crowd. And just like the designers, our team of talented Luxe Salon and Spa Professionals was up to the challenge of pulling the looks together with amazing hair and makeup.
All this magic comes together to raise money for the Starlight Foundation of Phoenix and to help sick children. Starlight brings together experts from pediatric health care, technology and entertainment to create programs that help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families. The programs help children and families cope with the challenges they face daily.

We are super excited to be featured in Arizona Weddings‘ latest Blog Post: Click HERE to view the article and photos! We invited the mag’s writers to our salon and here is just a snippet of what they said:
“Their salon was one of the biggest and most beautiful that I have ever seen. The hair and nail floors of the salon are separate but can be seen through a floor to ceiling glass wall. The massage, esthetics, and tanning rooms are in a quiet area giving you the peacefulness you would expect at a spa.”

If you are getting married in the next year, one of the major things to put on your “To Do” list is probably checking into skincare regimens. Many Brides tell us they know they will be looking at pictures and video of this day for many years to come, so they want to put their bast face forward. Drug store products just won’t cut it in most cases. In this case, we offer our Brides Dermalogica’s Wedding Booklet. Glowing skin doesn’t happen overnight! Download it here for FREE from Dermalogica by clicking this link: The Dermalogica Wedding Booklet.
We are proud to share this collection “Tried and True” Bridal advice we’ve learned over the years to make you feel more comfortable, look better and feel amazing on your special day!
4-6 Mo. Out: Get FREE Face Mapping done at Luxe to get prescription for Cleanser, Eye Cream and All Over Moisturizer. Start on exfolliants: Micro Derms and/or Chemicals Peels as prescribed by esthetician.
1 Mo. Out: Start Hydrating Facials, drink 8 glasses of water daily, cut back on caffeine and alcohol to keep skin hydrated.
Trial Day: No toners or moisturizers, come with a clean face. Bring photos of looks you like so the artist can get a sense of your style and bring photos of your self in makeup that you like as well.
Day of Wedding: Wash skin but skip toners, moisturizer and other products (like sunscreen) that will be between skin and makeup for better, long lasting application.
“Day Of” keep in your purse: Blotting sheets (designed to absorb oil or sweat without removing makeup) and a lip gloss/stick.
Natural Nails: We suggest our Brides (and Attendants) use one of our gel polish lines on fingers and toes (especially if the honeymoon is someplace sandy that grinds polish down) because it stays “fresh” looking longer, even into the honeymoon. This service can be done in advance to help ease the last minute rush. Brides who prefer regular polish should have services the “day of” or at longest the day before their event. Our Professional Nail Techs provide Brides with tips to make fingers and toes look fresh the day of the wedding and into the honeymoon in this case.
Gel Enhancements: These can be done in advance, but no more than a few days, especially if the bride has very short nails or no nail tips to work with. Again, we’ll provide the Bride with tips to make fingers and toes look fresh the day of the wedding and into the honeymoon. Gel Fills require the same timing as a new set.
4-6 Mo. Out: Talk with your stylist about your ideas for how you’d like to wear your hair on your Wedding Day. Discuss extensions, color, style. Start with deep conditioning treatments at the salon.
1 Mo. Out/Trial Day: Come with clean hair. Make sure to get a deep conditioning treatment at the salon and talk with stylist about treatments to use at home weekly.
1-2 weeks: Touch up color and cut; add extensions if chosen.
“Day Of” keep in your purse: Bobby pins, comb, mini hair spray, lipstick.
Other Services to Consider:
Waxing (should be done 3-5 days before Wedding)
Massage (helps keep stress at bay; a few days before Wedding)

A Villa Siena Wedding
We loved having Bride Lacey (now) Mercer in our salon with her skilled and friendly photographer Brianne Nichole and family. A gorgeous bride, Lacey knew from the start exactly what she wanted to look like and Stylist/Wedding Team member Patricia Delmar delivered a knockout look. As they say, pictures are worth 1,000 words and you can find some of the amazing photos below and the rest on Brianne Nichole’s Blog.
Have you met Patricia D.? Our newest Level One Stylist was attracted to the beauty industry when she looked through a wedding magazine and saw all of the beauty ads and references filling up the pages. She loved the industry so much, she had her cosmetology license before she’d even graduated high school.
When she’s not working on her Business Communication and Spanish degrees at ASU, she’s playing coed softball and building up a portfolio of gorgeous looks that show her mad skills behind a pair a scissors, as well as in the color room.
So as they like to say, you can get in on the ground floor of a promising new career and SAVE! From June 1st-July31st, if you come in to Luxe for your first time and request Patricia, you’ll get a FREE haircut with any color service OR 20% off ANY single hair service.
Pics: Our new Front Desk specialist, Hannah Spehar, went from a faded red to a beautiful blonde for summer time! Earlier this year Patricia did gorgeous hair for a gorgeous bride, Lacey Mercer and Her Mr. Mercer. More photos will be up this week on our Bridal Blog showcasing the photography of Brianne Nichole (thanks Brianne for letting us feature them!)
A Little Romance …
We at Luxe love nothing more than to see one of our cherished clients find the man of her dreams and get married! It makes us downright dewy eyed to be able to help a Bride look and feel her absolute best in her photos, as well as to her guests, on such an important day! That’s why when client Melissa Burke (now Brown!) came to Wedding Team Leader Danielle Arias Jones to plan her Bridal hair and makeup appointments for her wedding to Thomas Brown, Danielle was thrilled to assist! Melissa has gorgeous thick hair that was best shown off down to compliment her strapless gown and the romantic setting of her event. Luxe Makeup Artist, Christine Geranen, applied faux lashes to make Melissa’s baby blues pop even more, and chose to use shades of pink (Melissa’s favorite color!) to highlight her features and blend nicely with the various shades of roses chosen by her florist. The result? Breathtaking! Here are some more of the details and advice for the newly engaged and beautiful photos courtesy of OGrace Photograhy (602-881-3383 or firstname.lastname@example.org):
Bride & Groom: Melissa & Thomas Brown
Wedding Date: Jan. 14th, 2012
Wedding Venue: Villa Siena, Gilbert, AZ
Bride’s Hair Products and Technique: Melissa’s Special Occasion Thermal Style was done by Danielle Arias Jones, Bridal Team Leader, who used Moroccan Oil and Bumble Products to achieve Melissa’s beautiful, relaxed spiral curls and teased crown. The style complimented her gown, as well as the romantic setting of her wedding.
Bride’s Makeup & Lashes Products: Christine Geranen, Makeup Artist, who used Luxe by Coastal Scents Makeup (available at Luxe Salon and Spa) and MAC Products.
Speical touches we loved: We loved the little touches that Melissa and Thomas chose: The Bling B on their cake, the photo booth and vintage-looking strips of photos for scrap booking, the black damask and hot pink theme was romantic, yet modern and perfectly suited the venue and event! We love that Pink is Melissa’ favorite!
Why did you choose the venue? “The setting is so romantic and beautiful that very little needed to be done to be ready for our event,” explains Melissa. Makes sense to us and we love the way they choose to use their resources, as we mentioned.
What advice do you have for other brides-to-be? “The best choice I made was to have professionals do my hair and makeup. Since we had a trial I knew exactly what what I would look like for the event and so I could really relax and enjoy my time instead of worrying about having to be ready. It was worth every penny!”
