Luxe Continuing Education: Eminence Organics and MoroccanOil

Thanks to our amazing owners, Dan and Darlene Arias and Danielle Jones, we are very lucky to have the best of the best IMG_7620come to our salon to teach us the latest in products and services. This month we were extremely grateful to have the Founder and Master Educator for Eminence Organics, Boldijarre Koronczay, teach us all about diminishing wrinkles and controlling breakouts using the full Eminence Organic Skin Care product line carried at Luxe! Now all of us who trained can answer basic questions about the line and help support our award winning esthetics team (Best Facial 2014!).

In addition we were thrilled to have Jesse Arana, regional educator for MoroccanOil, teach us some great tips and tricks that we can’t wait to use on our clients!

IMG_7677Why is continuing education important? If you shop around and “price” services, especially in this day and age of Groupons, make sure you are comparing like products, professionals and the services themselves. We occasionally have someone point out that they can get a service for less and that is OK with us so long as they are comparing another salon where the professionals receive regular advanced training at least once a year and is using top notch professionals products (it’s like buying Budding lunch meat instead of Boar’s Head).

It bears repeating — Almost all of our professionals have many years of experience and all receive training at least once a year (usually quarterly). Maybe this doesn’t sound like a lot, but how many classes you or others you know have taken since you left high school or college to advance your knowledge in your industry? We do not hire our staff straight out of beauty school (unless they are part of our year-plus long trainee program). Many come to us with experience from other reputable salons which we know to be like-minded in their education practices. Those who we train work with most of the salon so that they get knowledge from many different mindsets and are very well rounded. We also send these individuals out to special training classes with our vendors. They are not allowed out on the floor, in a treatment room or behind a nail desk until we are VERY confident in their abilities.

So, next time your ask for a price consider what you are really purchasing … someone’s time and training, as well as the best products (and services) on the market! You know what you are getting when you come to Luxe!
