Luxe Gives: Reversing Rett’s Syndrome

Luxe Salon & Spa is pleased to be able to contribute to our local community on a regular basis though sponsorship of charitable programs. We tend to contribute on a first come, first served basis and champion our client’s causes when we can. It is best to let us know as soon as possible about your event for best chances that we can participate since demand is usually very high!

Luxe has donated a 90 Minute Custom Massage and MoroccanOil Dry Body Oil from the extremely popular MoroccanOil Body line to help raise money to battle Rett Syndrome on behalf of Sophia and the Retts Syndrome Research Trust event.

Research on Rett will have far-reaching implications for many disorders, including Autism, learning disabilities, anxiety disorders, childhood onset schizophrenia and other neuropsychiatric disorders.

Rett is the most physically disabling of the Autism Spectrum Disorders. Its prevalence equals that of Cystic Fibrosis, Huntington’s and ALS, but is vastly under-funded by comparison. Striking mainly little girls soon after they may have learned to walk and say a few words, the debilitating affliction causes loss of speech, motor control & functional hand use, disordered breathing and acute anxiety, impaired cardiac, circulatory & digestive functions, seizures and Parkinson’s tremors.

Rett *was* believed to be incurable. However, recently an unprecedented achievement arose: The reversal of Rett symptoms in a mouse model of the disorder by Dr. Adrian Bird. Research on Rett Syndrome will have far-reaching implications for many disorders, including Autism, learning disabilities, anxiety disorders, childhood onset schizophrenia and other neuropsychiatric disorders.

Cutting edge clinical trials need funding to bring this study to girls and reverse Rett Syndrome, so the fundraiser has this very important goal and Luxe is very pleased to be able to help!
